Erik’s Fat Boy Motivation: I can remember my grandma in the kitchen for hours and the food produced tasted amazing… Nothing I have ever cooked in the microwave has ever compared to what my grandma ever made. To the same in our health is the same way. No matter how quickly we make changes the process in being healthier, shedding excess fat, and correcting poor lifestyle choices is a SLOW process!
Today, I am frustrated by the scale but encouraged because I am going to wear a shirt and a pair of pants that I have not worn in years! That is exciting, but there is something about us that ties our success to the scale. I wish I could rewire my brain so that it does matter to me, but right now I can’t all I can do is keep working and eating like I should and eventually the scale will reflect the changes. For now, I will keep weighing myself once a week and use my body changes as the motivation not the stupid scale!
It is a slow process, but it’s worth it. The victory in health made over time will be so much sweeter than that made overnight.
