Erik’s Fat Boy Motivation: I am definitely guilty of the picture above. Aside from being a funny movie it is a visual representation of what I felt like right before starting this journey! I was enlisted in the US Navy and at one point was in the best shape of my life! I was 5’10, 165lbs, and could do push-ups until you told me to stop. It was great!
But… Like many others I left active duty and working out 2-3 times a day, but never stopped eating like I had been. I was probably consuming 3000 calories a day on average and the most strenuous part oh my day was moving from the car to my desk. The inevitable happened, the pounds started to pack on. I would try to make changes and would lose weight but it would never stay off and I would never stick with it. Sabotage was my favorite thing to do to myself. I would do it by making excuses “you worked out today you can have those chili chess fries” or “you can skip the gym today just workout twice as hard tomorrow” but I still would not go AND I would eat like crap again!

I don’t want to see you make the same mistakes! That is one of the reasons for this blog. So that everyone reading can learn from my mistakes. Don’t make the same mistakes I did! You can do this, you can succeed and not fall back into the same old habits that I did!
Starting small and making little changes will help with setting a pattern for real lasting change. Then once you are ready to make bigger changes they will be easy like turning on a light switch!
The point is you want to create lasting change by creating a healthy lifestyle that you can benefit from for the rest of your life!
Have a great day and a great workout!
Erik
